The Etruscan Coast

The Etruscan Coast is a geographical area that extends along the entire coast between Livorno and Piombino. Its particular name is linked to the fact that in the whole territory were found numerous archaeological finds, etruscan temples and ancient settlements. Most of these items are now collected in archaeological parks and museums and are therefore easily accessible to the public.
The territory is also characterized by the presence of numerous historic villages of Roman, Etruscan or Medieval origin, overlooking the sea or located a short distance from marvelous beaches.
The Etruscan Coast is often a destination for many Tuscan people. Here you will find beautiful bays, blue sea, breathtaking landscapes, art, culture, excellent oil and wine.
Particularly appreciated for their beaches and rocky bays are the villages of Castiglioncello, Vada, Cecina, Bibbona, Suvereto and San Vincenzo. The country villages of Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Campiglia Marittima are more famous for their wine-making experience and the spectacular sea views.
The coastline and hillsides are separated by a thick Mediterranean pine forest that develops along the coast. It is ideal for enjoying the hottest hours of the day with walks and bicycle tours.
